Here’s a selection of horse racing strategies based on selecting two horses in the same race. Once selected you can place straight bets on each horse or use a dutching strategy; place different stakes to return the same profit whichever selection wins.
Selection Strategy 1:-
2 DAILY DOUBLE SYSTEM
Only races of 8, 9, or 10 runners maximum.
Go to this site:-
https://www.racingandsports.com/race-day
Select the tab ‘Form’ from the top navigation bar: https://www.racingandsports.com/form-guide
Then select the country in which you want to research the racecards, we’ll use the United Kingdom for this example.
Next select the races with 8 runners in first, for example Ascot racecard shows an 8 runner race at 15:17
Go back to the racing and sports website and find the race; in our example that’s 15:17 at Ascot
Now we review the section below the list of runners under the title; ‘Computer Selection Panels’ Take note of the Horses in the aggregated points total, usually the bottom row of selections.
Make note of the 1st and 2nd highest scored (points) runners, if there are two runners in second, note all three.
So in our example we have:
Next we go to the tab at the top of the race card called “Neurals”
Neurals is a computer based stats analysis tool that uses algorithms to help identify the likely best horse in the race.
Next expand the section under ‘Set Preference Scale’ as below:-
You will see a screen like this:
The scale is a weighting according to which of the criteria is considered more influential on the race. ) is the lowest and 5 being the most important. By default they are set at medium (3) with the exception of WET, when the weather influences the track. It’s usually best to leave ‘WET’ as is since it reflects the conditions at the course. You are then able to adjust the other criteria according to your own experience or knowledge on racing. Below is how I set my criteria for all races.
You will have to repeat this setting for each race, unless you have registered account with the site.
Once you make changes to the criteria the webpage will automatically update, take care – if you click the ‘Reset’ button it will return to the original default scale; all 3’s.
Here’s how Ascot 15:17 looks like with the revised weighted scaling:
Make note of the top 2 runners; in our example it’s Magic Saint and Capeland.
Now check out the Forecast SP’s for those two runners;
Magic Saint is favourite at 3/1 (or 4.0) and Capeland is 3rd favourite at 5/1, or 6.0 in decimals.
Now use MBT Sports Calculator or a dutching calculator to set your stake to return the same profit for whichever wins.
You can also place the same wager each-way for double the stake.
