How To Make Money Betting On Tennis?

Here’s a list of the most popular tennis bets and ways on how you can make money on betting tennis sports;

Match betting – the obvious one and most popular tennis bet.

Handicap betting – includes match, game and set handicaps. Sometimes referred to as tennis spread betting, a lot more lucrative – but also a lot more risky.

Over and under totals – usually total games and total sets.

Correct score – including match score and set score. Used to predict the correct scoreline, mostly in-play.

Set winner – whereby you would bet on a player to win a particular set, again most used during in-play.

Outright betting – including tournament winner and each-way betting.

Unlike team sports, tennis is prone to the possibility that one player may have to withdraw through injury partway through a match. So always check your online bookmaker’s rules on player retirement, their rules can seriously impact your potential returns.

The rules will vary for any of the markets the bookmakers offer, so you need to know your stuff.

As with any regular betting strategies you really need to find the value in a bet. What’s the value in a bet? Value is where you believe the favourable outcome is more likely than that which the bookmakers odds would suggest.

Tennis players regularly suffer from injuries. Check out a player’s match calendar, see how many tournaments they have recently played in, how many they have entered in the future.

Playing conditions

Some tennis players prefer to play on clay others like hard or grass surfaces. Even the speed of particular a tennis court is a factor.

The weather

Wind is a major factor in outdoor tournaments, in windy conditions, attacking players can be disadvantaged by having to play more cautiously than usual.

Head-to-heads

A good guide to see how one player manages to play against his/her opponent’s playing style is to look at recent head-to-head matches. In some instance, a player might find it difficult playing against someone with a powerful serve, or who is opposite to them in their dominant hand (left or right-handed).
